Who is Ashley Williams?

Ashley Williams Dodson is an actress by profession and American by nationality. She is well known for starring in television series The Jim Gaffigan Show, Good Morning Miami, How I Met Your Mother, and TV movies for The Hallmark Channel, Lifetime Television, etc.

Ashley Williams – Age, Parents, Siblings

Ashley Williams was born on November 12, 1978, in Westchester County, New York, USA. Her birth name is Ashley Churchill Williams. Her mother is Linda Barbara, a fundraiser for The Michael J. Fox Foundation, and her father is Gurney Williams III, a freelance health and science writer.

She is not the only child of her parents and has two siblings- brother Jay Williams and older sister Kimberly Williams-Paisley, also an actress and wife to country music star Brad Paisley.

Education, Ethnicity

For education, Ashley Williams attended Rye High School. After graduation, she went on to study at Boston University College of Fine Arts School of Theatre. She graduated from the same in May 2001 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree. She also studied at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art after graduating from college. 

Her ethnicity includes English, Welsh, German, and French.

Ashley Williams – Boyfriend, Husband, Children, Divorce

Ashley Williams married her longtime boyfriend Neal Dodson on 29 May 2011. She has two children with her husband – sons Gus Williams Dodson (born October 5, 2014) and Odie Sal Dodson (born May 17, 2017). Her second pregnancy ended in miscarriage in the summer of 2016 and has been open about it.

Currently, the couple seems to be in a happy marriage. Also, there are no rumors of affairs or divorce surrounding the couple.

In recent years Williams has partnered with the Human Development Project to speak publicly about her experience with miscarriage in hopes of reducing the stigma of miscarriage and encouraging more open talks.

Early Days

Williams began her career as an actress in the year 1993, her debut role being Ida Heinken in the film Indian Summer. This was followed by the recurring role of Danielle Andropoulos in the TV series As the World Turns from 1994 to 1996 and in an episode of Dawson's Creek (2002). Finally, in 2002, Ashley Williams was cast as the main role of Dylan Messinger in Good Morning, Miami. She portrayed the character for a total of 39 episodes which also gained her recognition.

Over the years Ashley Williams has appeared in the films Something Borrowed (2011), Christmas in the City (2013), Lovesick (2014), Six LA Love Stories (2016), and in TV films including Hallmark’s Christmas in Evergreen: Tidings of Joy (2019), Northern Lights of Christmas (2018), Christmas in Evergreen (2017), October Kiss (2015). She has also starred in the Lifetime Film The Front (2010) and other ABC, Fox, and TBS TV films.

Other TV credits of Williams are in the TV series E-Ring (2005-2006), How I Met Your Mother (2006-2014), Saving Grace (2009-2010), and The Jim Gaffigan Show (2015-2016), to name a few.
