Who is Ashly Burch?

Ashly Burch is a writer, and voice actress by profession, and American by nationality. She is well known for her work in the animated series Adventure Time and the games Horizon Zero Dawn, Horizon Forbidden West, Fortnite: Save the World, Team Fortress 2, and Horizon Zero Dawn.

She has made good of her versatile voice which ranges from light and childish to rich and warm.

Ashly Burch’s birth took place on June 19, 1990, in Arizona, USA as Ashly Syble Burch. Her father’s name is David Burch and his mother’s name is Kamonwan Burch who uses the nickname Mon. Her mother immigrated from Thailand to the United States in her mid-20s. Her parents raised her in Phoenix, Arizona alongside her sibling, older brother Anthony Burch, who is now a writer.

For education, Ashly Burch attended Thunderbird High School. Following high school she studied at Occidental College, graduating in 2002 with a Bachelor of Arts/Science.

Ashly Burch – Boyfriend, Husband, Children

Ashly Burch was in a relationship with Must Come Down co-star David Fetzer. Unfortunately, Fetzer died of an accidental overdose in 2012 and she grieved at the loss for years.

She eventually moved on and went on to date Mort Burke. They have been together for years but are yet to marry. They do not have any children yet.

Ashly Burch – Career

Early Days

Burch, then aged 12, was influenced to pursue a career as a voice actress while playing the 1998 game Metal Gear Solid. After seeing the name of voice actor David Hayter alongside that of the main characters, she found out that there were actual people who voiced the characters.

Her debut work was as Ash in the comedy sketch videos Hey Ash, Whatcha Playin'? in 2008. Now she is also the creator, writer, and executive producer of the series.

After her brother was hired as a writer for Borderlands 2, he advised Ashly Burch to audition for the role of Tiny Tina. She voiced the character in-game, which was released in 2012.

In the last decade, Burch has lent her voice to more than 50 games. Some are namely- Team Fortress 2 (2014), Mortal Kombat X (2015), Fallout 4 (2015),  Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutants in Manhattan (2016), Guardians of the Galaxy: The Telltale Series (2017), Fortnite (2017), Dota 2 (2017), Final Fantasy XV (2018), The Outer Worlds (2019), Marvel's Avengers (2020), Spider-Man: Miles Morales (2020), Horizon Forbidden West (2021).

She has also worked in the animation series Adventure Time (2014-2018; also writer), Rusty Rivets (2016-2020), Final Space (2019-present), and The Ghost and Molly McGee (2021), to name a few. Ashly Burch’s other known work is in the live-action including the web series Critical Role (2016-2019), Mythic Quest (2020-present), etc.

She has won a Golden Joystick Award (2015), a Primetime Emmy Award (2016; writer of Adventure Time), two Golden Joystick Awards (2017), and a PlayStation.Blog Game of the Year Awards (2018). Ashly Burch has also earned nominations for The Game Awards (2017, 2018), and British Academy Games Awards (2015, 2018), among others.

She was also listed in Forbes' 30 under 30 in the games class of 2018.
