Who is Blake McIver Ewing?

Blake McIver Ewing, who is better known as Blake McIver and Blake Ewing is an American actor as well as a singer, songwriter, actor, model, and pianist. Above all his profession, he is known as the actor, who played Derek S. Boyd, on the sitcom Full House.

Blake McIver Ewing’s birth took place on March 27, 1985, in Los Angeles, California, USA. His parents are Susan Mclver and Bill Ewing. He also has a sibling, a brother named Zack Ewing.

For studies, he attended Heritage Christian High School and graduated from the same. For higher education, he enrolled at the University of California, Los Angeles(UCLA) and graduated with a Bachelor’s degree.

Ewing was rumored to be dating Brittany Ashton Holmes. But he is an openly gay man and takes great pride in his sexuality. However, he was not always comfortable with his sexuality and had shared about his teenage years,

“When I was 14, I came very close to becoming a gay teen suicide 'statistic,' but I then turned to music, my piano, my loved ones, and discovered that it does in fact get better.”

As for Ewing’s dating history, there had been no records of his boyfriend(s). But scrolling through his Instagram page, we found out that he has posted pictures with producer and actor Emerson Collins on Feb 15, 2019, with a heart emoji.

Collins too loves to feature Ewing in his Instagram posts and has said they have known each other for 5 years! (as of December 2018). So are they dating? Yup, they are!

Before fame

Blake McIver Ewing’s career began when he was just a six-year-old boy. He said, “I have been working professionally in the entertainment industry since I was six.”

So, basically, the major part of life is spent in front of the camera. But before his breakthrough role, he had acted in Star Search (1992).

In 1992, he was cast as Derek S. Boyd in Full House. Ewing portrayed the character for a total of nine episodes until its sudden cancellation in 1995. He also acted in the series Minor Adjustments (1995–1996), Recess (1997-2000), and Hey Arnold! (2001-2003).

Worked in

Ewing has also landed roles in films such as Calendar Girl (1993), The Little Rascals (1994), Tom and Huck (1995), and Raising Helen (2004). In the arena of series, he has made guest appearances in The Nanny (1993), Home Improvement (1993), Clueless (1997), and The Drew Carey Show (2000).

Blake McIver Ewing is currently the host of The People's Couch and AfterBuzz TV. 

In addition to acting, Ewing is also a singer-songwriter. He co-wrote and performed the song Along the River for the film End of the Spear, from his experiences as a gay teenager.

In May 2014, his debut album titled The Time Manipulator was released. Also on July 14, 2015, his equality anthem This Is Who We Are was released. To fund his 2014 album, Ewing worked throughout 2013 as a go-go dancer in Los Angeles. Talking of it, he shared,

"The tips were good. In fact, I raised so much money, I was able to finish my record — mission accomplished."
