Bridget Moynahan’s birth took place on April 28, 1971, in Binghamton, New York, USA. She was born Kathryn Bridget Moynahan to parents Mary Bridget, a former school teacher, and Edward Bradley Moynahan, a scientist and former administrator at the University of Massachusetts Amherst. 

She is not the only child of her parents and has two siblings, older brother Andy Moynahan and younger brother Sean Moynahan. Her family moved to Longmeadow, Massachusetts when she was seven years old.

For education, Moynahan attended Longmeadow High School. She was very athletic and in high school, she was the captain of the girls' soccer, basketball, and lacrosse teams. She later attended the University of Massachusetts Amherst and also studied acting at the Carmichael Patten Studio in New York.

Bridget Moynahan was in a live-in relationship with screenwriter Scott Rosenberg from 2001 to 2003. She then went on to date Tom Brady, an NFL quarterback in 2004. They broke up after three years in December 2006.

On February 18, 2007, Moynahan's representative confirmed that she was three months pregnant with ex-boyfriend Tom Brady’s child. On August 22, 2007, she gave birth to their son John Edward Thomas Moynahan. Since then she and Brady have maintained a civil relationship and is co-parenting their son.

In 2010, she began dating Joseph McGinty Nichol, professionally known as McG but broke up soon after.

Before fame

Soon after graduation, Bridget Moynahan started to pursue her career as a model. She was signed into a modeling agency and soon appeared in department-store catalogs. At the age of 18, she moved to New York and a year later began posing for Vogue Paris (May 1993), Elle (October 1993), and Glamour (six times).

Even though modeling earned money, she realized it would never last. So, she turned to act and began taking acting classes.

In 1999, Bridget Moynahan made her debut role as Natasha in HBO's Sex and the City. Finally, in 2000, she landed her breakthrough role of Rachel in Coyote Ugly.
