Who is Candace Cameron Bure?

Candace Cameron Bure was only around 11 years old when she was cast in the hit sitcom Full House. After growing up on camera, she took some time off to focus on her family life and marriage. 

Now with the spin-off series Fuller House, she is back with her role. What changes could we see in her life after all these years?

Candace Cameron Bure was born on April 6, 1976, in Panorama City, Los Angeles, California, United States. Her full name/birth name is Candace Helaine Cameron. Her mother’s name is Barbara Cameron, an actress, and her father’s name is Robert Cameron, a teacher, and an actor. 

She is not the only child of her parents and has three siblings- older sisters Bridgette Cameron, Melissa Cameron, and an older brother Kirk Cameron. 

Education, Ethnicity

For her education, Cameron attended Nevada Avenue Elementary School before enrolling at Chatsworth High School in Chatsworth, California. From there she graduated in 1988.

Her ethnicity includes Scottish, English, German, and Dutch.

Candace Cameron Bure – Boyfriend, Husband, Children, Divorce

Candace Cameron Bure met Russian NHL hockey player Valeri Bure during a charity hockey game. They were introduced by her Full House co-star Dave Coulier. Bure and Cameron soon started dating.

After romantic dates and steamy getaways, Cameron married her boyfriend on Valeri Bure on June 22, 1996, at the age of 20. After the wedding, Valeri Bure sent an autographed hockey stick with the message, "Dear Dave, thank you for Candace."

The married couple has three children together. Their daughter Natasha Bure was born on August 15, 1998. While their sons Lev Valerievich Bure and Maksim Valerievich Bure were born on February 20, 2000, and January 20, 2002, respectively.

As of 2018, Candace Cameron Bure and Valeri Bure are happily married with no signs of extramarital affairs or divorce. She believes that her strong Christian faith is the binding force in her marriage.

Candace Cameron Bure – Career

Early  Days

Candace Cameron Bure decided to follow in her older brother Kirk Cameron’s and mother’s footsteps in acting. Her first steps in acting were in a few numbers of TV commercials. Soon after, she had guest roles in shows including St. Elsewhere, Growing Pains, Who's the Boss?,  Punky Brewster (1985), Some Kind of Wonderful (1987).

The course of Cameron’s career changed when she was cast as Donna Jo "D.J." Tanner in the sitcom Full House in the year 1987. The series was a massive success which catapulted her acting career. She was a cast member of the series until it ended in 1995.

Films, Series

After 1995, she made appearances in Boy Meets World, Cybill, I Love the '80s, I Love the '80s Strikes Back, Camp Cucamonga (1990), No One Would Tell (1996), She Cried No (1996), That's So Raven (2007), The Wager, Moonlight and Mistletoe (2008), Make It or Break It (2009-2012)

Candace Cameron Bure has also co-hosted 50 Cutest Child Stars: All Grown Up on the E! network,  Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards (1990, 1994), and The View. In 2014, she participated in season 18 of Dancing with the Stars. She was paired up with professional dancer Mark Ballas, finishing in third place.

In 2015, Candace Cameron Bure reprised her role as Donna Jo "D.J." Tanner in the Full House spin-off series Fuller House.
