The Minnette moved to Los Angeles so that Dylan could pursue his career. His debut screen role was in an episode of Drake & Josh (2005) at the age of 9. Since then he has starred in the films Let Me In (2010), Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day (2014), Goosebumps (2015), Don't Breathe (2016), The Open House (2018), Scream (2022), etc.
Moreover, Dylan Minnette has also portrayed characters in the episode(s) of TV series Prison Break (2005-2006), Saving Grace (2007-2010) as Clay Norman, Lost (2010), Awake (2012) as Rex Britten, Scandal (2014), 13 Reasons Why (2017-2020) as Clay Jensen, The Dropout (2022), to name a few.

In addition to Dylan Minnette’s successful career as an actor, he is an accomplished singer and musician. He is the lead singer and rhythm guitarist in the band Wallows, other members being Cole Preston (drums) and Braeden Lemasters (singer, guitar). The group first started working together in 2011 and had several name changes.
Their first EP The Narwhals was released on October 10, 2014, followed by EPs Spring, and Remote, released on April 6, 2018, and October 2020 respectively. The band has also released two studio albums- Nothing Happens on March 22, 2019, and Tell Me That It's Over on March 25, 2022.
