Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. is a boxer by profession and Mexican by nationality. Born in a family of boxer-son of Julio Cesar Chavez and older brother of Omar Chavez, he held the WBC middleweight title from 2011 to 2012.

He is not the only child of his parents and has a sibling- younger brother Omar Chavez, who is also a boxer.

Early Career

Julio Cesar Chavez Jr.’s career as an amateur boxer contained only two fights, both of which were against Jorge Páez Jr. and were shown on Mexican television.

After just two fights as an amateur boxer, then 17-year-old Chavez Jr. started his career as a professional. His debut game was on 26 September 2003 against Jonathan Hernandez, which he won over six rounds.

In the middleweight category, Julio Cesar Chavez Jr.’s first match was on 26 June 2010 against John Duddy. He defeated Sebastian Zbik to win the WBC Middleweight on 4 June 2011. He fought in a match against Marco Antonio Rubio, Andy Lee, Sergio Martínez, etc.
