Early Days

Cornwell was encouraged to pursue a career in art after he became interested in drama and acting while in grade school. He continued to participate in school plays throughout high school. In 2011, he relocated to Chicago to pursue his professional career as an actor.

His debut role was in the 2013 short film Poor Perception as Blake. This was followed by minor roles in the TV series Chicago P.D. (2014), and Empire (2015). Justin Cornwell also lent his voice in the 2014 game Watch Dogs and appeared in the 2014 video Alpha House.

Finally, he was cast as a recurring character Det. Kyle Craig in the TV series Training Day in 2017. This role helped him propel his career forward.

Since then Justin Cornwell has starred in the films We Are Boats (2018) as Freddie, Jingle Jangle: A Christmas Journey (2020) as Young Jeronicus, and Havoc (2022). He has also had guest roles in the episodes of the TV series I Am the Night (2019) as Terrence Shye, The InBetween (2019) as Damien Asante, and The Umbrella Academy (2022) as Marcus Hargreeves.
