Katherine Langford – Age, Parents, Siblings

Katherine Langford was born on 29 April 1996 in Perth, Australia. Her parents are Elizabeth Langford, a pediatrician, and Stephen Langford, a flying doctor and director of medical services at the Royal Flying Doctor Service Western Operations. She also has a younger sister named Josephine Langford, who has also taken up acting as a career.

Education, Ethnicity

She was offered to study at Perth Modern School, where she studied music and drama. There she was also a sports captain and a nationally ranked swimmer. After graduating in 2013, she attended the Principal Academy of Dance & Theatre Arts as a major in  Music Theatre.

Her ethnicity is English.

There are rumors that Katherine Langford is/was actually in a relationship with her co-star Dylan Minette. But these rumors are not true since they have been denied by both. 

As of now, she is single, with no boyfriend, not married, and no husband or children.

Katherine Langford – Career

Early Days

Katherine Langford had received classical, jazz, and contemporary vocal training since she was 9 years old. During her high school days, she was interested in politics and medicine. But after she attended Lady Gaga’s concert, she absolutely changed her mind. 

Langford was inspired to play piano and even shared videos of herself singing her own songs, I've Got a Crush on Zoe Bosch, Young and Stupid, and 3 Words.

Langford stopped swimming and gave her time on acting. After graduation, the determined Katherine Langford applied to several acting schools but was rejected. They pointed out that she was very young and did not have the required experience. So, she joined acting classes in her hometown. 

Katherine Langford worked hard for her dreams. She worked three jobs, found herself an agent, and enrolled at the Principal Academy of Dance & Theatre Arts. In 2015, she was selected among five to participate in the National Institute of Dramatic Arts Advanced Actors Residency and she also trained at Nicholson's Academy of Screen Acting.

Films, Series

Katherine Langford began acting with small roles in films such as Story of Miss Oxygen (2015), Imperfect Quadrant (2016), and Daughter (2016). Her breakthrough role was as Hannah Baker, a high school student in the TV series 13 Reasons Why. She portrayed the character of Hannah Baker for the first two seasons.

But on May 25, 2018, Langford confirmed that she will no more portray Hannah Baker in the third season of the series. 

Since then, Katherine Langford has starred in The Misguided (January 2018), as Leah in Love, Simon (2018), Nimue in Cursed, Robot Chicken (2018), etc. In the upcoming movie Avengers: Endgame, which is the sequel to the 2018 movie Avengers: Infinity War, Langford is set to star. 

This exciting news was announced in October 2018. She is also set to star in 2019’s movie Spontaneous as Mara Carlyle and as Meg in the 2019 movie Knives Out.

 She won the Australians In Film Awards in 2017.

Her net worth and annual salary have been estimated to be around $5 million and $1 million respectively.

Langford seems like an actress who loves her work rather than her fame. She is not present on social media except on Instagram. 

She also shared that Selena Gomez was the one who convinced her to make her Instagram account public. She said in an interview,

“It was a bit of a big decision for me actually, because I wanted to be an actor purely for the acting work. I have never been attracted to increasing my popularity or hireability by being on Instagram. I didn’t want to make myself a consumable product. I just wanted to be able to do my job and then disappear. Selena pointed out that the show is targeting young adults like me and that [social media] is a good medium to talk directly with those who relate to my character, Hannah.”

However, she is absent from other handles such as Twitter and Facebook.
