Who is Kim Fields?

Kim Fields is an actress, and TV director by profession, and American by nationality. Being the daughter of actress Chip Fields, she is well known for starring in The Facts of Life as Dorothy "Tootie" Ramsey, and in Living Single as Regine Hunter.

Kim Fields’ birth occurred on May 12, 1969, in New York City, New York, USA. She was born Kim Victoria Fields to her mother Chip Fields, an actress, and her father Tony Fields. She is not the only child of her parents and has a sibling, younger sister Alexis Fields, who is also an actress. 

After her parents divorced, her mother went on to marry Erv Hurd, a technical director.

Following graduation from Burbank High School in 1986, Kim Fields went on to study at Pepperdine University. She graduated in 1990 with a degree in telecommunications. 

She is of African-American and African-Jamaican ethnicity.

Kim Fields married film producer Jonathon Freeman on 16 July 1995. But just 6 years into marriage, they divorced in 2001.

She went on to date Broadway actor Christopher Morgan and gave birth to their child – son Sebastian Alexander Morgan was born on May 4, 2007. She and her longtime boyfriend married on July 23, 2007. 

Years later on July 24, 2013, she announced on The Real that she and her husband were expecting their second child. Their son Quincy Xavier Morgan was born on December 3, 2013. Currently, she is happily married and living blissfully without rumors of extra-marital or divorce.

Early Days

Kim Fields started her career very young. Between 1977 and 1979, she had guest appearances in the TV movie Have I Got a Christmas for You and the TV series Baby, I'm Back (1978), Good Times (1978-1979), Diff'rent Strokes (1979-1981), Roots: The Next Generations (1976). 

In 1979 Fields was cast in the sitcom The Facts of Life as Dorothy 'Tootie' Ramsey. She portrayed the character until 1988, for a total of 202 episodes.

Over the years Kim Fields has starred in over 4 dozen films and series. Some of them include Martin (1992), Living Single (1993-1998) as Regine Hunter, Kenan & Kel (1997), One on One (2004), Monster Mutt (2010), The Real Housewives of Atlanta (2015), Living the Dream (2017-present) as Rhoda, Cobra Kai (2019) as Sandra, You Light Up My Christmas (2019).

Moreover, Kim Fields has directed some episodes of Living Single, Kenan & Kel, Tyler Perry's House of Payne, and Let's Stay Together.

She also owns a production company Victory Entertainment and Atlanta-based organic coffee and beverage brand Signature Blends by Kim Fields (SBKF), which was launched in 2017.
