About her siblings, she has a sister named Gretchen Storms, and a brother named Austin Storms. She also has a stepbrother named Chris.

When still a little girl, she convinced her parents to enroll her in acting classes. This worked out very well for the young aspiring actress. At the age of 5, she was discovered by a talent scout who gave the suggestion to enroll her in an intensive children's acting camp in the Catskills, New York.

Kirsten Storms was in a relationship with her former General Hospital co-star Brandon Barash, which was confirmed in early 2013. After a series of secret marriage rumors, the couple confirmed that they had indeed secretly married in June 2013 at Caesar's Palace in Las Vegas, Nevada.

They also revealed that Storms was pregnant and their first was expected in January 2014. On  January 7, 2014, Barash announced via Twitter that Kirsten Storms had given birth to a healthy baby girl named Harper Rose Barash. But the happiness in their marriage seemed to be short-lived.

On April 6, 2016, it was announced that Storms and Barash had filed for divorce citing irreconcilable differences. The announcement also stated that they will raise their daughter together.

Kirsten Storms – Career

Early Career

Kirsten Storms’ first role on TV was in a commercial for Galoob Baby Doll. After appearing in some commercials, she was cast in a recurring role on ABC's Second Noah. Soon she landed the lead role in Sing Me a Story with Belle. To focus more on her acting career, she moved with her family to Los Angeles at the age of 12. 

Soon after she made appearances in 7th Heaven as Laura Cummings,  Zenon: Girl of the 21st Century, Hallmark’s The Trojan Horse, Disney's Johnny Tsunami and lent her voice in the animated series Kim Possible.

Films, Series

Kirsten Storms then landed her breakthrough role on the NBC daytime drama Days of Our Lives as Isabella "Belle" Black. The announcement of her role was made On August 5, 1999. She played the role for the next 5 years until her contract expired. But she did not renew her contract and her final episode was aired on July 15, 2004. 

The same year in 2004, she was picked up by CBS’s Clubhouse. Even though a total of 11 episodes were shot, the show was canceled after airing only 5 episodes.

Kirsten Storms’ next major role was Mariah Maximiliana "Maxie" Jones in the ABC soap opera General Hospital. She began to portray the role on May 23, 2005. But due to endometriosis, she temporarily left the role and was replaced by Jen Lilley. She was rescheduled to return to the set On September 5, 2012.

Again on January 2, 2014, she took a maternity leave and soon returned on April 8, 2014. Storms left the set of General Hospital for the third time for personal reasons but soon returned in August 2017.

Storms have been in legal trouble several times. She was pulled over on a Los Angeles freeway on September 7, 2007, for tossing a lit cigarette out of the window of her Mercedes.

She was also arrested for a DUI. She was ordered to attend twelve Alcoholics Anonymous meetings, pay a fine of  $1,643, and also complete a 90-day alcohol education program. Also, Storms’ license was suspended for six months and she was placed on probation for three years.
