Who is Kyle Kuzma?

Kyle Kuzma is a basketball player by profession and American by nationality. He currently plays for the Los Angeles Lakers of the National Basketball Association (NBA).

Kyle Kuzma’s birth took place on July 24, 1995, in Burton, Michigan, USA as Kyle Alexander Kuzma. He was raised by his single mother Karri Kuzma, who had become pregnant with him in college. Karri Kuzma was an athlete in high school, and college and was a two-time Class B shot put champion.

He grew up in Flint, Michigan with his younger half-brother Andre Smith and younger half-sister Briana Smith. Kuzma is biracial and has only met his biological father once when he was still an infant. He views his stepfather Larry Smith as a father figure.

Growing up, Kyle Kuzma moved around a lot. Once Karri Kuzma and her three children lived in the unfinished basement of her grandparent's home for a few months.

For education, he attended Bentley High School. After graduation, he studied at the University of Utah from 2014 to 2017. He graduated with a degree in sociology.

Kuzma had offers to play with numerous Division I schools and decided to join the University of Utah. However, he redshirted his freshman year as he signed with his University late but got to play basketball in the following years.

With Lakers

In the 2017 NBA draft Kyle Kuzma was picked by Brooklyn Nets with the 27th overall pick and was traded to Los Angeles Lakers. He signed a rookie scale contract with the Lakers on n July 3, 2017.

Kyle Kuzma has played with the Los Angeles Lakers in the 2017-2018, and 2018-2019 seasons.
