Lauren Tsai is a model, actress, and illustrator by profession, and American by nationality. She is well known for appearing in the series Terrace House: Aloha State, Legion as Jia-yi / Switch, and Moxie.

Lauren Tsai’s birth took place on February 11, 1998, in Wellesley, Massachusetts, USA. She was born to a European-American mother Linda Marie Tsai and a Chinese-American father Stephen Tsai. She is not the only child of her parents and has two siblings- two older sisters. Her uncle is a celebrity chef and restaurateur Ming Tsai.

When Lauren Tsai was just seven years old the family moved to Honolulu, Hawaii and her first visit to Japan was at age eleven. She also lived in Massachusetts for a year for boarding school and lived in Hiroshima for six weeks while in high school.

Early Days

Despite growing up as a shy teenager, Tsai began her career as a model in 2014 under the name "Lala." Following her audition for the Japanese reality show Terrace House in November 2016, she lived in the show's Honolulu house. 

After leaving the show in 2017, she continued to work as a model and has appeared in a number of magazines, commercials, catalogs, and fashion shows – both in Japan and Hawaii.

Lauren Tsai is also an illustrator and her work is described as “Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy”.

As an actress, Lauren Tsai has starred in the film Moxie (2020) as Claudia. She has also portrayed character(s) in the TV series Shsuke Tanihara's 25th Meal (2017), and the main role of Jia-yi / Switch in season 3 of Legion (2019). Moreover, she has appeared in music videos of Frederic’s Rererepeat, Jung Yong-hwa’s Summer Dream, etc.
