Who is Matthew Patrick?

Matthew Patrick is a YouTuber, and the creator and narrator of the YouTube web series The Game Theorists, MatPat's Game Lab. He is also the creator of the YouTube channel GTLive, one of YouTube's first live gaming channels, and has worked in the YouTube Premium series Escape the Night as well as starred in the game show The Runner.

Matthew Patrick’s birth took place on November 15, 1986, in Medina, Ohio, USA. He was born Matthew Robert Patrick to his mother Linda Patrick and his father Robert Patrick. The details and identity of his siblings, if he has any are not shared with the public.

For education, Matthew Patrick attended Medina High School. Following graduation, he went on to study at Duke University. He earned a double major in psychology and theater from the same.

Patrick married his longtime girlfriend Stephanie Cordato. The couple had first met while at Duke University and became close after creating a Legend of Zelda parody called The Epic of Stew. After years of dating the couple married on May 19, 2012. 

With his wife, who has taken his last name, he has a child- a son Oliver Julian Patrick (born in 2018).

Early Days

After completing his college education Patrick moved to New York City to pursue a career in acting. But after two years of struggle to land a role, he uploaded the promotional trailer for Game Theory followed by the first episode four days later.

In 2009 Matthew Patrick created his YouTube channel titled MatthewPatrick13 which contained videos of his performances and auditions for musical theatre.

In his Game Theory videos, Matthew Patrick talks about his theories about games such as Minecraft, Five Nights at Freddy's, Call of Duty, Pokémon, etc He began working as the Game Theory's main editor and host of the show Digressing & Sidequesting. 

On May 12, 2014, he created a second YouTube channel called The Film Theorists which focused on films and series instead of gaming. He posted his new show MatPat's Game Lab on YouTube Red and focused on placing video game players in real-life scenarios mimicking scenarios that occur in video games.

Matthew Patrick also created the Let's Play series called GTLive on August 26, 2015, and also worked in the web series TOME: Terrain of Magical Expertise. Currently, he is the co-owner and President at Theorist Media.
