Susan Lucci is married to Helmut Huber, an  Austrian-born chef, and food-service manager. The couple had married on September 13, 1969, after falling madly in love. Together they have welcomed two children- son Andreas Huber and daughter Liza Huber, who is also an actress.

From her daughter, she and her husband are grandparents to three grandchildren- Royce Alexander Hesterberg (born Dec 23, 2006), Brendan Hesterberg (born Aug 16, 2008), and Hayden Victoria Hesterberg (born March 23, 2011).

She was married to Huber for 50 years until his death in March 2022 at the age of 84.

Susan Lucci – Career

Before fame

Before fame, Lucci had acted in a few movies, all in the year 1969. Her role in Goodbye, Columbus, and Love Is a Many Splendored Thing was uncredited while she acted as Cheerleader in Me, Natalie. 

Worked in

In 1970, Susan Lucci landed the lead role of Erica Kane on ABC’s daytime soap opera All My Children, which is her breakthrough role. The show ran for 41 years until its cancellation on April 14, 2011! She said in an interview,

"It's been a fantastic journey. I've loved playing Erica Kane and working with Agnes Nixon and all the incredible people involved with All My Children. I'm looking forward to all kinds of new and exciting opportunities."

She also criticized ABC Daytime president Brian Frons in her autobiography All My Life on the account of the show’s cancellation.

Other series/ shows she has worked in are The Love Boat (1982), Saturday Night Live (1990), Dallas (1990-1991), Hot in Cleveland (2010-2014), Army Wives (2012), Devious Maids (2014), Ralph Breaks the Internet (2018).

Currently, she is the host of the documentary series Deadly Affairs and has been hosting series since 2012. She competed in the Season 7 of Dancing with the Stars and was partnered up with Tony Dovolani. The duo finished in the sixth position.

Previously, she had been awarded 1991’s American Academy of Achievement Award, a 1992 People's Choice Award, and a 1993 Soap Opera Digest Award.

Susan Lucci – Health issues, other projects

Susan Lucci was discovered to have a 90 percent blockage in her heart's main artery in 2018. Following diagnosis, the actress went through an emergency procedure. She only decided to go public with her health issue in February 2019, which is shortly before the American Heart Association's annual Go Red for the Women fashion event.

In addition to acting, she is actively working in Little Flowers Children's Services of New York, and March of Dimes' National Ambassador Campaign. Lucci launched The Susan Lucci Collection in 1991 and the fragrance La Lucci in 1999.
