Cardi B admits her extreme criminal past on Instagram Live!

Cardi B is taking honesty to a whole new level. In an Instagram Live video, she confessed that she used to drug and rob men for money after making them think they were going to have sex.

The Video

An Instagram live video dating three years back resurfaced. Since then it has received a severe backlash so much so the hashtag #SurvivingCardiB is trending on Twitter. 

In the video, the rapper revealed many ways she "survived" before she made it as an artist,

"I had to go strip. I had to go, ‘Oh yeah, you wanna f--k me? Yeah yeah yeah, let's go back to this hotel. And I drugged n----s up and I robbed them. That's what I used to do. Nothing was muthaf--kin' handed to me, my n---a. Nothing!"

Backlash

Following the backlash, Cardi B took to Instagram to “clear her name” by posting a statement on Instagram.

The 26-year-old mother of one further explained that it is a "part of hip hop culture" and many musicians use their past struggles to "talk about the wrong things you had to do to get where you are."

She stated that she can now “be a better me myself, my family, and my future." And the men she robbed from were the men she dated and was involved with were “conscious willing and aware”. She closed the statement by saying “ I have a past that I can’t change we all do.”

Personal Life

Cardi B, whose real name is Belcalis Marlenis Almánzar was born on October 11, 1992, in New York City, USA. She began stripping at the age of 19 before rising to fame in 2015.

She married rapper Offset in September 2017 privately in their bedroom. They have a daughter together.
