Comedian Jak Knight's cause of death revealed

Comedian, writer, and actor Jak Knight's untimely death has been revealed to have been by suicide. The information was given out by the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner-Coroner.

In Jak’s autopsy report obtained by People, his body was found on an embankment in Los Angeles on Thursday. He had died from a gunshot wound. The 28-year-old’s family confirmed the tragic news the following day.

“Knight’s loved ones ask that their privacy please be respected during this extremely difficult time,” the released statement read.

Since starting his career in the mid-2010s, he is well known for creating the comedy series Bust Down alongside Chris Redd, Langston Kerman, and Sam Jay. He is also famed for his work on Black-ish, Big Mouth where in the latter he voiced middle school student DeVon.

As a stand-up comedian, he found success as he toured globally and was a famed comic in Europe. In 2018 he was cast to appear in Netflix’s comic show The Comedy Lineup.

As the news of his death came to light, many renowned personalities paid their tribute.

“Jak Knight was a hysterical and honest comedian. We will miss him tremendously.,” Comedy Central wrote on their Twitter page.

“A heartbreaking loss for the Big Mouth family. Writer and voice actor for beloved character Devon. An enormous talent. Rest in peace Jak Knight,” Big Mouth’s official Twitter wrote.

"Rest In Peace Jak Knight. Hilarious comedian and a great guy. I can't believe it," fellow actor and comedian Kumail Nanjiani tweeted while Everything's Trash star Phoebe Robinson tweeted, “Truly shocked to hear about Jak Knight's passing. Only 28. A brilliant stand-up comic and a dope person. My heart goes out to his family, friends, and loved ones.”
