Dylan Sprouse, fiancé Barbara Palvin opens up on engagement, upcoming wedding

Last Modified: 9th Sep

Actor Dylan Sprouse and his model girlfriend Barbara Palvin announced their engagement more than 8 months after the proposal.

The pair, who have been dating since 2018, shared the news via Instagram as they posed for V Magazine’s V143 Fall Preview 2023 Issue. They wore bride and groom attire with a large wedding cake in the background as blue confetti fell.

In the interview, conducted by his twin brother Cole Sprouse, Dylan revealed that he had popped the question in September 2022.

“We didn’t necessarily feel the need to be fully transparent with the public about that aspect of our engagement,” the 30-year-old added.

The notoriously secretive couple chose to keep the details of the proposal under wraps but did inform that they will be tieing the knot in the Victoria’s Secret model’s home country of Hungary. And, of course, his twin brother and fellow Suite Life of Zack & Cody co-star Cole Sprouse will be serving as the best man.

When talking about their upcoming wedding, Palvin, 29, added that she is not nervous about the wedding.

“I think the engagement stressed me more than the wedding. “I mean, a man has time to prepare for the proposal—Dylan kept the ring for seven months before he asked the question—but for me, it was right then and there,” she explained.

“I knew since we started dating that I want to marry him, but it’s a big decision,” the model added.

The soon-to-be groom shared he had another worry in his mind – the first dance.

“Frankly, it’s about the first dance. I’m nervous about a choreographed dance. I’m not a good dancer,” he said.

Dylan and Palvin began dating in 2018 after the former Disney star slid into the model’s DMs. But it was not a smooth sail.

“I ghosted him for six months,” Palvin admitted.

After she felt she was ready, she reached out to the actor but he was about to move to China for six months to film a movie.

“I was like, ‘Look, you picked the worst possible time,'” he told Palvin then.

However, she was convinced it was fate as she had plans to be in China for a campaign around the same time. Unfortunately, the trip was canceled.

Dylan solved the issue by offering the model to fly and join him.

“Why don’t we jump out on a romantic limb and just do what we were planning to do anyway? I’ll fly you out and we can hang out in Beijing,” he had offered his now soon-to-wife.

The model responded, “I would love that, but I’ll buy my own ticket.”

The millennial couple bonded over their love for the anime “Naruto.”

In March 2023, rumors of their engagement began after she was spotted wearing a ring on her finger at the Mammoth Film Festival.

“That really annoyed me because I knew we were building this story up,” the model admitted on not being able to confirm or share the news herself.
