Last Modified: 9th Sep

Elon Musk and Grimes, the on-again, off-again couple, are now parents to a baby girl. They welcomed the newborn via surrogate in December 2021.

The secret was spilled in the Canadian singer’s Vanity Fair cover story during which the baby began wailing from upstairs.

“She’s a little colicky too. I don’t know. I don’t know what I was thinking,” Grimes said of her newborn after the Vanity Fair reporter asked about the baby upstairs.

The 34-year-old went on to reveal that her first child X Æ A-XII, was with his father Elon Musk, and their daughter is named Exa Dark Sideræl Musk but is nicknamed Y.

In December 2021, Y was born via surrogate- just a few months after the tech mogul and she had broken up. They were together for three years.

Speaking of her relationship status with the 50-year-old Tesla founder, she shared, “There’s no real word for it. I would probably refer to him as my boyfriend, but we’re very fluid. We live in separate houses. We’re best friends. We see each other all the time. … We just have our own thing going on, and I don’t expect other people to understand it. This is the best it’s ever been. We just need to be free.”

She also revealed their plans to have more children, “We’ve always wanted at least three or four.”

Musk’s first wife is author Justine Wilson and shares five children with her- 17-year-old twins Griffin and Xavier and 16-year-old triplets Damian, Saxon, and Kai. Their firstborn, Nevada Alexander Musk, died of sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS) at only 10 weeks in 2002.

He was married to Westworld actress Talulah Riley from 2010 to 2012 and again from 2013 to 2016. He has also been in high profile relationship with Johnny Depp’s ex-wife Amber Heard from 2017 to 2018 and budding romance rumors with Australian actress Natasha Bassett.
