Jack Wagner has expressed his gratefulness for a cascade of support following the untimely death of his son Harrison Wagner last month.

“Thank you all so much for the love & support you’ve sent me, it’s helped me more than you’ll ever know….Again thank you all for the love, right back at ya,” the General Hospital star wrote on Instagram alongside a video of him about to board a flight to Vancouver to start season 10 of Hallmark’s When Calls The Heart.

“Hopefully it will make you laugh and we can enjoy it together. and again thank you so much for the love and support you’ve sent me,…huge…sending it right back to you, so we’ll be in touch,” he said to his 100k Instagram followers.

Wagner, 62, lost his 27-year-old son- the body was found dead in a parking lot in North Hollywood. He and his ex-wife Kristina Kay Wagner (nee Crump) had welcomed Harrison in 1994, having married in 1993. They had met on the set of General Hospital and also have another son- Peter who was born in 1990.

The heartbroken parents had revealed their youngest child had lost his battle with addiction.

Since then, the former couple has created The Harrison Wagner Scholarship Fund which will be used to help young men pay their rent or a portion of their rent as they are unable to afford care at the sober living facility called New Life House.

The statement read, “We are heartbroken that he ultimately lost his battle with addiction. and we hope that Harrison’s memory will live on through this scholarship and will help other young men get help for their addiction that would not otherwise be able to afford it. Harrison was a bright, exuberant young man whose smile lit up any room he was in. He has left behind many men and family members who loved him deeply.”

According to Jack Wagner, Harrison had struggled with addiction and sobered up but relapsed in July 2016. He had gone missing for a week.

“I fear for my youngest son's safety. Harrison has struggled w drugs & alcohol just as I did when I was younger. He’s relapsed & is MIA 5 days,” he tweeted in 2016.

The actor also has a daughter named Kerry (born 1988) from a previous relationship. Kerry’s biological mother had placed her for adoption at birth. He and Kerry reunited for the first time at a concert in Florida in November 2011.
