Singer and songwriter Michael Bolton is recovering following a surgery to have a brain tumor removed.

In a Facebook post, the 70-year-old, started “by wishing everyone a very happy and healthy new year.”

He wrote in the post, “Just before the holidays, it was discovered that I had a brain tumor, which required immediate surgery.”

After thanking the medical team, he revealed that he was recovering at home “surrounded by the tremendous love and support of my family.”

“For the next couple of months, I will be devoting my time and energy to my recovery which means I’ll have to take a temporary break from touring,” he continued. “It is always the hardest thing for me to ever disappoint my fans or postpone a show, but have no doubt I am working hard to accelerate my recovery and get back to performing soon.”

The “When a Man Loves a Woman” singer concluded by saying he is “grateful for all the love and support you have so generously shown me through the years.”

He wrote, “Know that I’m keeping your positive messages in my heart, and I’ll give you more updates as soon as I can. Much love always, MB.”

Bolton did not specify when his doctors discovered the tumor.

Last month, after his performance at the Disney Parks Christmas Day Parade, fans were concerned about him.

The Grammy Award winner wore a white suit jacket and black slacks during his performance.

Fans had tweeted at the time, “What was wrong with Michael Bolton on the Christmas Parade? He looked in pain.”

Another social media added that it looked like the singer “couldn’t even move.”

“Oof. Michael Bolton didn’t look well on the Disney Christmas Parade show. They barely put him on the screen during his performance. Hope that guy’s ok,” another comment read.

The singer was expected to kick off his tour in Florida on February 1, 2024.

It is yet to be specified how long the singer will decide to take time off to focus on his health.
